Gallant Yachtswomen defeated in Women's FA Cup

Richard Giles

The Yachtswomen exited the Women’s FA Cup after defeat against tier 4 Kidderminster Harriers on Sunday.

After a fairly even start, Kidderminster started to gain control with a strong wind in their favour.
Williams was the first keeper called into action saving a Harriers shot, but was helpless when a wind assisted shot sailed over her head to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Wroxham best effort of the half came when M Green beat her defender on the flank, but the forwards were unable to convert the cross.
Ten minutes before the break, Kidderminster double their lead, when a cross to the near post was flicked into the goal.
De Suza and Stanley were introduced at the start of the second half as the Yachtswomen looked to reduce the deficit.
A long shot by Harriers hit the bar before being cleared, before Wroxham started to put pressure on the hosts.
Midway through the half, Wroxham pulled a goal back when good interplay by Fuller and Stanley set up De Suza to score.
With 3 minutes remaining, the Yachtswomen deservedly equalised with Stephenson scoring after a ball from Fuller.
The hosts regained the lead on 90 minutes and De Suza had a shot straight at the keeper. With Wroxham chasing the game, Harriers scored a fourth in the 5th minute of added time, as Wroxham exited the competition.
