Wroxham FC are delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old attacking midfielder Amber Cantwell to the Women’s Senior Team for the 21/22 season.

Amber joins having spent the past four seasons plying her trade in the FA Women’s National League for Cambridge United.

From Dereham, Amber came through Norwich City’s youth programme, playing for the Canaries until the age of 19 before a brief spell at Wymondham Town.

A number 10 with bags of creativity, Amber describes herself as a confident player that loves to have the ball at her feet. The attacking midfielder has made appearances throughout the Yachtswomen’s pre-season schedule and finally signed on the dotted line earlier this week – enabling her to gain her first league appearance in yesterday’s 4-2 victory over Luton Town.

Women’s Manager Rebecca Burton said: “We highlighted Amber as a target back in May so I’m delighted that we’ve been able to get this over the line. I’ve known her ability and what she’s capable of doing in games for a number of seasons now, however this summer when planning out our philosophy, we knew that she could really make the difference for us tactically this season."

“She’s creative, clinical, intelligent on the ball, and has a great work ethic; all of which combine to make her a nightmare to play against. During pre-season she’s demonstrated that no end, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what she can add to us this season.”

Amber added: “I’m excited for this new chapter. The girls are fab and I hope to help Wroxham reach their full potential, with promotion being the primary focus.”

Amber will be squad number 10 for the 21/22 season and you can follow our latest signing on Twitter via @AmberCantwell.
