Tuesday night under the lights at the Ginger Pickle Arena sees the last game of Wroxham’s pre- season. The visitors are Leiston FC.
The Suffolk club from the Southern League Premier Central division will be a good test for the replenished Yachtsmen squad.
Leiston playing at Step 3 of the non league pyramid have a number of former Yachtsmen in their squad. Two players who particularly stood out during their time at Wroxham are goalkeeper Billy Johnson who excelled while on loan during the 2023-24 season and Joao Rangel who joined Leiston during the close season from Lowestoft. Rangel, a Yachtsman until last mid season, is now an international footballer having been selected recently by Timor-Leste. His pace and skill will test the Wroxham defence.
Wroxham manager, Jordan Southgate, feels he has recruited well during the close season, bringing in Charlie Norman and Sam Johnson from Lowestoft along with strikers Liam Jackson and James Moore from Thurlow Nunn clubs.
The Tuesday night game that kicks off at 7.30pm should be good preparation for the Yachtsmen’s FA Cup tie away to Fakenham Town on Saturday. Further details and information on this tie will be published later this week.
