After close to a month of little activity all of a sudden matches come along like the often quoted London buses. The Yachtsmen having secured a hard fought away point at Gorleston on Boxing Day now face two games in three days.
Today it’s a trip down the A140/A12 to the Essex town of Witham. Earlier this season the two clubs produced an entertaining goalless draw at Trafford Park, now it’s the return fixture.
Both clubs find themselves in midtable positions of 11th and 12th in Isthmian League North. The Essex club have one more point but the Yachtsmen have two games in hand ( the soon to be played home games against New Salamis and Heybridge Swifts , that were victims of the weather, earlier in the month).
On Boxing Day , manager Jordan Southgate was forced to rearrange his team, asking some players to play in somewhat unfamiliar positions, hopefully Wroxham should have additional players available for today’s game. Travis Dodsworth should come into contention having served a one match ban following his sending off at Bowers and Pitsea, and into the squad comes Tyler Knowles.
Knowles, a defender, is on a one month loan spell from Boston United. With Robbie Linford currently unavailable and Tom Huckerby absent with a long term injury, finding a defensive cover had become a priority for the Yachtsmen.
The game kicks off at Witham Town’s Spa Road ground at 3pm
