It proved to be a good Friday for the Yachtsmen, when they went toe to toe with the league leaders and likely league champions, Brentwood Town at the Ginger Pickle Arena. Trailing 2-1 at half time, Wroxham produced a strong second half performance. They equalised in the 74th minute through Asa McGeachy and during the remaining minutes dominated the game and looked the more likely winners.
While Wroxham earned a valuable point, others teams around them had mixed fortunes. Haringey Borough travelled to Concord Rangers, with the North London side securing all three points with an emphatic 4-0 victory. Meanwhile Newmarket Town were away to Tilbury and the Dockers were too strong and scored three first half goals to settle the game.
These results leave Wroxham on 43 points with two games to play. Tomorrow, Easter Monday, the Yachtsmen travel down the A11 to Newmarket in the knowledge that a draw would be enough to secure a place in Isthmian League North for the 2025-26 season.
With the Yachtsmen unbeaten in their last four games. The mood around the club and amongst players is good and hopefully a number of supporters will travel to Newmarket to support the Yachtsmen in what may be a decisive game.
